Choosing the right school is an important decision, and the best way to understand life at Parkside is to experience it first-hand.
Throughout the year, we offer Discovery Sessions for families considering Parkside, alongside Experience Days designed to support children as they prepare to join us.
Parkside Discovery Sessions – A First Step into School Life
Our Discovery Sessions run every half term and are designed for families who are considering Parkside and would like their child to experience the school in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
These sessions give children the opportunity to:
- Spend time in the classroom
- Take part in activities alongside current pupils
- Meet our teachers and begin to feel familiar with the school
They are a wonderful first introduction to Parkside, helping children feel comfortable and confident, while giving parents a chance to learn more about our approach and community.
Discovery Sessions are open to both registered families and those exploring Parkside.

Summer Term Experience Days
In addition to our regular Discovery Sessions, we run a series of Experience Days during the Summer Term, designed to support key transition points and support children as they prepare to join Parkside.
Friday 1st May – New Starters Experience Day
For children joining Year 1, Year 2, Year 4, Year 5, Year 6 & Year 7 in September 2026 | 8.30am – 3.00pm
This full-day experience is for children who have already accepted their place at Parkside, giving them the opportunity to feel part of the school community ahead of September.
Pupils will spend the day immersed in school life, joining lessons, meeting their future teachers and classmates, and beginning to feel part of the Parkside community. It’s a valuable opportunity to build confidence ahead of September and ease the transition into a new school environment.

Friday 15th May – Reception & Year 3 Experience Day
Reception (9.00am – 11.00am)
Children will join our current Nursery group (Owls) as they prepare to transition into Reception.
During the morning, they will:
- Take part in engaging classroom and outdoor activities
- Explore the Pre-Prep environment
- Enjoy time in the playground and share a snack
This session is designed to help children feel happy, confident and excited about starting school.
Year 3 (8.30am – 3.00pm)
Parents invited from 8.30am - 11.00am
This is a key transition point into the Prep School, and the day is carefully designed to support both children and parents.
For children:
- Join a full school day, including lessons and activities
- Spend time in the Prep School environment
- Meet current pupils, including their Year 8 buddies
For parents (morning session):
- Attend assembly
- Experience a guided introduction to the Prep School
- Meet staff and gain insight into the Year 3 journey
This shared experience helps ensure both children and parents feel confident and well-prepared for the transition into Prep.
