Extracurricular
At Parkside School, our philosophy is to offer a broad and enriching curriculum alongside a wide range of experiences that allow children to discover and develop new passions and talents.
Clubs play an important role in school life, providing opportunities to try new activities, build friendships beyond the classroom, and develop existing skills and interests. We offer a diverse programme of clubs across sport, performing arts, environmental, creative, relaxation, music and STEM, all designed to encourage curiosity and confidence.
“We encourage all pupils to take part in clubs with enthusiasm and enjoy the opportunity to explore and discover.”
Clubs are available to children from Reception to Year 8 and are supervised by Parkside staff and/or specialist providers. They are hugely popular and form a valued part of the wider Parkside experience.
Beyond clubs, children are supported within our extended school provision from 7.30am–6.00pm, including Breakfast Club, After School Care and Holiday School. Throughout the academic year, we also enhance learning through outings and residential trips, making the most of our local area and the rich opportunities it offers.
An overview of our Spring 2026 term clubs is available to view below.

Trips & Outings

All children at Parkside School have the opportunity to take part in School trips, excursions and residentials. These outings are a fantastic way to consolidate classroom learning and to develop independence throughout their time here.
The Nursery children visit Garson’s Farm, Cobham fire station, Cobham library and Painshill Park every year. The experience of being driven in the Parkside minibus is where the magic of the outing begins.
In Pre Prep, all outings are local using the Parkside minibus to transport the children, with the exception of the Pantomime in December when they travel by coach to the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre. Outings in the Pre Prep include Wisley Gardens, Painshill Park, the Lookout Centre, Chertsey Toy Museum, Woking Mosque, Cobham High Street and Pizza Express to name but a few. Pupils in Year 2 have also represented Parkside at music festivals and they regularly sing to the elderly residents at Springfield House.
Residential trips start in Year 4 with 2 nights away at Sayers Croft, where forest survival skills are taught. In Year 5, pupils visit Stratford Upon Avon for 2 nights, Year 6 visit Belgium for 3 nights, Year 7 Normandy for 4 nights and Year 8 travel to Italy as they start their Leaver’s Programme for 5 nights.
Local trips continue throughout the year for all ages including Hampton Court, orienteering in Box Hill, leadership days in the Surrey Hills, London Museums, theatre trips, musical events, and field trips to Nower Wood to name but a few.
The Year 7 and 8 Caribbean Cricket Tour in St Lucia was a huge success in Easter 2024 and we cannot wait for the next sports tour to be confirmed. The hugely popular ski trip happens every other year and is a great opportunity for Years 5-8 pupils to enjoy some time on the European slopes.
School trips and residentials all contribute towards building confidence and independence at a young age. It is so important for children to be given the opportunity to experience their own community as well as different ones. It brings varied perspectives of life and builds teamwork and solidarity amongst their friends and teachers, which create life long memories.
