About the Friends of Parkside
Every Parent is an “unofficial” member of the Friends of Parkside (FoP). We are a small friendly committee of volunteer parents, who work to raise funds for the school. Friends of Parkside also provide a social link for parents through a variety of events throughout the year. Any parent is welcome to join, so please get in touch with one of us below, if you’d like to get involved. We would love to hear from you.
We are an enthusiastic new committee team and we will be arranging a host of popular events like the Mother’s Dinner, Boys Christmas Bazaar, Fireworks & Bonfire Night, Summer Party, Biscuit and Merchandise sales.
In the last few years, the money raised by Friends of Parkside has been used to fund a variety of projects throughout the school, including Smart TV’s for the boys’ classrooms, new equipment for the nursery playground, a contribution to Literacy Planet, an online resource, for the English department and a new stage for the gym which will be used for Christmas plays and other productions.
10% of funds raised are donated to the Fernside Trust, which provides financial assistance to parents of pupils whose future education has been put in jeopardy through financial difficulties.
We would like to thank you for your support at our events throughout the year. With the exception of charitable donations, all monies raised go straight to the school and nursery to help fund the purchase of equipment and making improvements to the school, all of which directly benefit the pupils. We cannot do this without your generous support!
