Arts

Drama is used to build confidence and inter-personal skills in addition to its own value as an exciting creative activity. The school puts on several performances and musical soirees every year for the benefit of parents and the local community. Year groups also make several theatre visits to professional productions.

Public speaking is encouraged through regular poetry and prose reading competitions and in-house debating contests. We take two teams of 5th and 6th year pupils each year to the national St John’s Debating Competition.

In our art department, the boys use a variety of media to develop their artistic skills in a stimulating and supportive environment. Every child has the opportunity for their work to be framed, displayed and sold in the school’s annual fundraising exhibition. Standards are very high and a number of boys go on to specialise in art at their senior school.

Artistic Flair

All our boys were commended for their excellent designs for the NATIONAL HELLENIC STUDIES, the 2007 Artwork Competition for Schools this year. This was a fantastic result as there were 539 entries from 49 schools.

Young-Min Chai, received the Commended Prize Winner of the Promotion of Hellenic Studies.
