Parkside Schools runs a cricket, tennis and swimming academy for the children at the School and those living in surrounding areas. Academy pupils can benefit from the wonderful facilities and coaching staff available at Parkside.

Parkside Cricket Academy

The Parkside Cricket Academy was formed in 2005 and has proved to be a great success. The academy is run by Sid Lahiri, ex-professional cricketer from India, who is an ECB Level 3 qualified coach and who is also Assistant Director of Sport at Parkside School.

The academy runs courses for all ages, from 6 to adult, and all abilities. Many Parkside boys attend and also children from other schools, both girls and boys. The younger children are taught the basics and are encouraged to take part in activities to give them a better understanding of the game in a fun way. The courses are graded according to ability, the advanced programmes producing many cricketers of both district and county standard.

Parkside Tennis Academy

Pre-Prep Tennis

Curriculum based after school tennis classes are offered to our boys in Pre Prep. The lessons focus on core skills such as hand eye coordination, balance, agility and understanding of how a tennis ball behaves. Boys are introduced to the basic shots and technique.

As they progress they start to play proper matches using the tie-break scoring system. Our strongest players have the opportunity to represent the school in the U8 Surrey Mini Leagues.

Main School Tennis

After school coaching classes are offered to boys in forms 1- 6. They are introduced to the basic shots, technique, rules and match play situations.

Our more experienced players represent the school in team competitions which start at U9 and go right through to our senior boys at U13 level.

Parkside Aquademy

Aquademy Swimming is a well established ‘Learn to swim program’ where in a fun, enthusiastic environment all of our swimmers enjoy experiencing the joy of water lead by Steve Luff, head of swimming at Parkside School and Deborah Vine, an ex International Swimmer.

There are many classes ranging from non swimmers taking their first paddle to competition swimmers working towards school galas, biathlons or even club competitions. Adult sessions are also available for the very nervous or those wanting to improve.

All of the groups are very small and are taught by a very experienced team of teachers and coaches all working in line with the Amateur Swimming Associations National Teaching Plan for Swimming.

Classes run throughout the week from 5pm onwards and also at weekends. For more details please contact Deborah Vine on 07801695969 or visit our website www.aquademy-swimming.co.uk
