Maintenance Technician

Responsible to:          Assistant Bursar

Hours of work:           8.00 am to 5.00 pm              


Main Responsibilities

To work as part of a team to ensure the smooth running of the School buildings and grounds.

Background to the school

Parkside, which was founded by Thomas Hill in 1879, is a thriving preparatory school for boys aged 4 to 13 with an onsite co-educational nursery. Set in over 45 acres of beautiful grounds on the outskirts of Cobham, the school provides a stimulating environment in which the boys can learn, grow and develop. We focus on providing an education that allows the boys to make the most of their abilities, interests and talents so that they will progress to senior schools as confident and independent individuals, with a joy of learning.


Person Specification

The following job description sets out the overall purpose of this role and the main tasks to be carried out. It is not essential but it is desirable for the person applying to have the skills and experience required in order to perform the job effectively.

Please note that minibus driving is part of the job description and a clean driving license will be essential.

Salary and hours

The post is full time from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm with an hour unpaid for lunch. Overtime is agreed beforehand and bus runs can start from 7.00 am during term time.

The annual salary is £22,000 per annum.

Holiday Entitlement

The holiday entitlement is 20 days per year rising each year over a five year period by one day to a maximum of 25 days.
